Have you noticed that your car doors no longer stay fixed in place as before? They used to click firmly into the correct position, but now they wobble like a loose gate. The most likely reason is wear of the plastic stoppers inside the door check mechanism. Over time, they lose their shape, the rollers seize, and the mechanism stops holding the door.
There is no need to tolerate this — we offer a repair kit that allows you to restore firmness and reliable door fixation at a reasonable cost.
Step-by-step replacement process:
Remove the interior door trim. Then unscrew the bolt and nuts securing the old door check and pull it out of the door panel.
Bend the four retainers — the housing opens and the cover is removed.
Remove the old stoppers along with the springs. Typically, the rollers are worn out or seized.
Clean the rod, housing, and springs from dirt and wipe them dry. Then apply dry lubricant to the rod and the new stoppers from all sides. Wait until the lubricant dries — this is important for smooth break-in and longer service life.
Install the new stoppers: insert the springs, place the parts on the narrow section of the rod, and gently press until the stoppers fit into the housing. It is important that the recess on the stoppers faces the cover.
Tightly bend the retainers of the housing (with a hammer or pliers) so that the cover fits evenly. If the cover is bent or loosely sealed, play and unwanted noises may appear. Avoid damaging the housing pins.
Reinstall the refurbished door check, secure it with the bolt and nuts, and reinstall the door trim. After that, the door will hold its position like new.
After such a replacement, the mechanism works with firm door fixation and without play.
Which cars the kit fits
Our repair kit fits many models, including:
- Toyota Camry (VIII and IX generations), Toyota Avensis (III generation)
- Lexus RX450h and other Toyota / Lexus models, as well as many models from other brands (contact us — we will select the proper kit for your vehicle).
If you did not find your model in the list, write to us — we will check the catalog and choose the right kit.
Why a repair kit is more beneficial than replacing the whole mechanism
- Replacing the entire assembly is significantly more expensive.
- Used door checks often already have internal wear — the stoppers may be worn out, and the effect of replacement will not last long.
- Our repair kit provides reliability: you receive new, wear-resistant stoppers made from durable material, extending the service life of the mechanism.
- Installation is simple, does not take much time, and the cost of repair is much lower than purchasing a new assembly.
If you want to restore the original firmness and reliability of your car doors without unnecessary expenses, replacing the stoppers with a repair kit is the optimal solution.
