- Remove the door trim panel, then unscrew the three bolts (or nuts) securing the door check strap and remove it from the door.
- Disassemble the door check strap by carefully bending back the retaining tabs with pliers.
- Clean the rod, spring elements, and other parts of the door check strap from dirt and wipe them completely dry.
- Install the stoppers and spring elements back into the door check strap housing in reverse order. The rod must be in its initial position (the narrowest section) during installation.
- Apply the supplied lubricant to the stoppers and the rod of the door check strap.
- Reinstall the door check strap into the door, check the door holding positions, and reinstall the trim panel.

PLEASE NOTE
If the door hold is weak or absent, this indicates that the door check strap rod or the spring elements are significantly worn. To fix this, install compensation shims: remove and disassemble the door check strap, place one shim between the stopper and the spring element, then reassemble the door check strap.
Do not use the following products, as they attract dust, dirt, and sand, which accelerate rod wear: grease lubricants (solid oil, lithium grease, etc.), silicone lubricants, WD-40 and similar products, or “homemade” solutions such as soap, wax, etc.
Squeaking may be caused by improper lubricant or uneven rod wear (new stoppers may require some time to wear in properly).
Ticking or clicking noises when opening the door may be caused by the hinge at the body mounting point. To eliminate this, lubricate it with a penetrating lubricant, but not one with a silicone base.
