Have you ever faced the problem when your car doors do not stay fixed in the desired position? This can be inconvenient during parking, passenger boarding, or exiting. Our company’s solution — a door check strap repair kit! The kit will restore the fixation, and your doors will work like new again.
What’s included in the kit for 4 doors?
◾ Retainers — 8 pcs (2 pcs per check strap).
◾ Compensation plates — 4 pcs.
◾ Special molybdenum disulfide oil (5 ml)
◾ Installation manual — 1 pc.

Step-by-step installation instructions for the repair kit:
1. Removing the check strap:
- Remove the inner door trim.
- Unscrew the three bolts securing the check strap.
- Remove the check strap from the door.
2. Disassembling the mechanism.
- Bend back the four clamps and remove the cover.
- Remove the old retainers along with the spring elements.
- Clean the rod and spring elements from dirt, wipe dry.
3. Preparing for assembly
- Apply the special molybdenum disulfide oil to the rod, retainers, and spring elements.
- Let the oil absorb and distribute evenly for a few minutes. It will extend the service life of the retainers and make assembly easier.
4. Installing new retainers
- The rounded corners of the retainers should face the body side, and the sharp corners should face the cover.
- Assemble on the narrow part of the rod.
- Bend the clamps with pliers or a hammer (this can be skipped as the cover will be tightened automatically when installed in the door).
5. Installing the check strap back into the door
- Install the check strap back into the door.
- Tighten the three bolts. - Check the door fixation.
6. Using the compensation plates (if necessary)
- If the door fixation is weak or absent, the rod or spring elements may be worn out.
- Disassemble the check strap, place one compensation plate between the retainer and the spring element.
- Reassemble the check strap and install it back.
- Check the door’s operation.
Important information! Install the compensation plates only if the fixation is weak. If installed prematurely, the door may open too tightly. After assembly, the door check strap will restore fixation. The repair kit allows you to quickly and inexpensively restore the operation of the check straps without replacing the entire mechanism.
